Cloud-Based Company Raises $24 Million
Huddle announces new funding and an IPO on the horizon.
More money is going into the cloud.
Huddle, a cloud collaboration tool for enterprises, has closed a $24 million funding round, the company announced Thursday.
The series C round, led by Jafco Ventures, also included WebEx founder Subrah Iyar, DAG Ventures, Matrix Partners and Eden Ventures. Since its 2007 launch, Huddle has now raised $40 million.
“An IPO is on the plan perhaps in a couple years,” CEO and co-founder Alastair Mitchell told the Wall Street Journal. “It’s our ambition to be a great stand alone company.”
With clients like Procter & Gamble and NASA, Huddle allows users to store and collaborate content in a cloud. With the new funding, Mitchell told the Journal the company would built out teams to manage the company’s growth. –Erin Kim
