Super Bowl Ad Targets Would-Be Entrepreneurs

The Kauffman Foundation is airing a commercial during TV’s biggest event in an attempt to reach small-business owners and start-up hopefuls.

Hey, entrepreneurs: The Kauffman Foundation is looking for you.

And it’s casting a wide net to find you: The $2 billion nonprofit will be airing its first TV ad during the Super Bowl in an attempt to reach American entrepreneurs.

The organization, which focuses on fostering entrepreneurship, uploaded the commercial to YouTube last week. The ad urges viewers to go to WillItBeYou.com, which provides resources for entrepreneurs and small business owners.

“We want people to understand anyone can have a great idea. And if you have great commitment and passion, you can try that idea out,” Wendy Guillies, spokeswoman for the foundation told CNNMoney. “The end goal is that we have more people who start businesses and succeed in them.”

The Kauffman Foundation has paid to run the animated commercial—which reportedly cost less than $400,000—in New York City, San Francisco and Washington, in addition to Kansas City (where it is headquartered), with the goal of targeting entrepreneur-dense areas, reports CNNMoney. –Abby Tracy
