The online venue for random jobs will use it to expand features and meet growing demand.
TaskRabbit, an online service that matches up workers with users ready to pay for completed projects, has raised $17.8 million in Series B funding. LightSpeed Venture Partners led the round, and the financing comes from both former investors and new ones like Allen & Company and The Tornante Company.

TaskRabbit plans to use the cash to meet growing domestic and international demand and also expand its engineer, design, and operations teams to enhance “product features,” according to a news release.
Launched in 2008, TaskRabbit says that both net revenue and the number of listed tasks have tripled since May 2011, when it completed a $5 million Series A round. The site aims to “change change the way we collaborate with those around us to get things done,” TaskRabbit founder Leah Busque said in a news release.
